R. SUNDAR

Author | Business Strategist | Chartered Accountant | Digital Transformation

From balancing ledgers to writing literature, from designing systems to drafting strategies, my journey has always been about turning numbers into narratives.

I began with Physics and Chartered Accountancy, then moved into designing processes, building shared service centres, innovation labs, and technology startups, anchoring digital transformations along the way.

Alongside spreadsheets and storyboards, I kept writing fiction about quiet lives and loud truths, and non-fiction that makes complex activities simple.

I write because stories change habits, restore empathy, and build culture. \

Whether it’s a bus conductor, a builder, a postman, or a transgender solopreneur, my characters remind us that invisible labour and silent victories shape our world.

What I Do

  • Authoring business literature and novels
  • Creating online courses and serialized content
  • Public speaking, workshops on process excellence, technology marketing, innovation
  • Showing Right Horizons for wealth building & investments

My Books

Double Whistle

He punches tickets. But what he really manages is chaos, courage, and quiet change.

1979, Pozhichalur, Chennai (Madras), India

Muthuswamy is a principled conductor on Route 52, steering through rickety buses, erratic schedules, and rising tensions in Tamil Nadu’s public transport system. As shady timekeepers and political whispers unsettle the depot, he’s pulled into community forums, drug investigations, and a reluctant role as leader.

Double Whistle is a moving portrait of quiet resilience, blending humour, heart, and grit. A tribute to those who serve with dignity, even when no one’s watching.

Leopards beyond the runway

  Pozhichalur, Chennai. July 1979.

Sethuraj, a principled contractor, watches his world crack, not from faulty concrete, but betrayal.
Kickbacks, sabotage, and vanishing loyalties threaten both his work and his workers. As riots erupt and surreal visions of frogs leaping and leopard faces flicker, Sethuraj must choose between compromise and conviction.

Leopards Beyond the Runway, set in suburban Madras, Tamil Nadu, India is a lyrical tribute to working-class resilience, sacred spaces, and the quiet power of integrity in turbulent time

Book cover titled 'Neither a Monkey Nor a Prisoner' by R. Sundar.

Neither an monkey nor a prisoner

In the rain-washed lanes of 1970s Pozhichalur, Visu walks unnoticed, broke, belittled, and bound to a postman’s bag.
His father calls him useless. The village barely looks up. But he has the ambition to pass his 10th standard exam and rewrite his fate.

When floods halt the milkman’s rounds, an ancient temple crumbles, and whispers of dacoits stir the air, he delivers more than mail. Grocers, priests, students, and even sceptics see something in him.
This is the story of the slow rise of a young postman who, without fanfare, becomes the thread that holds a community together.

Ninety Hours of Desire

Kamala, a transgender water-distributor from suburban Chennai, boards the Vande Bharat Express with a valid ticket and a quiet need for rest. Beside her sits CMD, a corporate titan under fire for glorifying the 90-hour work week.

What begins as awkward silence unfolds into a charged, intimate reckoning of labour, dignity, and the cost of ambition.

Ninety Hours of Desire is a collision of two Indias: one that builds, and one that sustains.
